Lazy Days

Braid your hair the night before. Don't wash it. Take it out and shake your mane like you just don't care!
Find an over-sized shirt. Plaid is king.  Wear any pants you want, preferably just out of the hamper. If it still looks too crisp, crumple your clothes into a ball and stand on them while you brush your teeth.
Before you leave your house, just grab a hoodie to tie around your waist and some old tennis-shoes or thick-soled clunkers.
        It's '90s grunge, baby.

I want fun!

Dress from TJ Maxx, backwards
Flats from Savers
Heart locket from a birthday long ago
Earrings from my aunt
Slip from my mom
Yoyo, the cat who adopted us

I love this outfit so much!  The day was hot and this was super breezy and cool.

I found this combination trying to decide what clothes to give away.  An old Girl's Life issue had a shoot where the model wore a tank top backwards, so I tried on this dress backwards, and it is better than right-side-forward!

I spent most of the day lazing on the couch with The Girl Is Murder and the air conditioner on.  And, baby, I liked it!

May your summer days be beautiful.  (Or winter, if it is where you are!)

Utah Pride Festival

Guess shorts, Savers
Shirt, Shopko
Belt, Deseret industries
Shoes, Savers
Scooby-Doo backpack, yard sale
"World Changer" pin, Target
"Peace" pin, a store in Missoula, Montana
Star pin, girl scout trade
"Protect your muffin" pin, Planned Parenthood

Hello, all!  Today was the Utah Pride Festival in SLC!  I went with my friend Aaron and his family, and it was awesome.  I ended up in the parade with the Pride Center kids, and I saw a whole bunch of amazing folks!  We also got a whole bunch of free stuff -- a bajillion free pins, T-shirts, bracelets, etc.  If you're confused right now, it means you need to Google some stuff! ;)  Also, there are pictures of the actual parade and festival on places on Google as well!

Standing on the side of love for ALL.

Sunsugar

Guess shorts from Savers
Blouse from my grandma
Belt from Deseret Industries
Flats from Savers
Earrings from my aunt
Flowers from an old kitchen decoration

Hi again!  We lost our camera for a while, and the other camera I tried was honestly no better than a webcam.  While this camera isn't too good, it's much better!

Summer break is almost upon us!  I went to the nursery with my dad today to get some plants for the garden -- tomatoes, zucchini, lavender, cucumbers, petunias, and some bell peppers.  I look forward to the tomatoes most of all.

Hand-Me-Down Family History

Dress, Deseret Industries
Cardigan, Savers
Heels, from my mom
Scarf/neckerchief/pretty thing, from my great-grandma Bates/grandma Brown

Look at me, being all grown-up and posting a blog on the same day that I wear these clothes!  I wore this to school today.  I felt snazzy, and someone asked me if I was going to court.  Because apparently that's a reason a lot of teens dress up. o.O
For once I did my hair!  It's a miracle -- I'm not really a fancy-do sort of girl, at least, not in the mornings before school.  This one from Pinterest was actually pretty easy, even though I didn't do it the same as in the photos, because I liked the effect of the crossed-over bit in the back.  Pinterest is a many-photoed thing.
The neckerchief/pretty scarf thing was a gift for Christmas from my grandma Brown.  It belonged to my great-grandma Bates, who died just a couple years ago.  My family used to go down to visit them about once a year, and I miss being able to see my great-grandpa and great-grandma.  That being said, it feels nice to have this thing of hers.  I had a few moments throughout the school day that it made me think of her.

Also, my great-grandpa was a stud in the 30s -- like what Edward Cullen was supposed to look like in my mind.  In the same photos (that I don't have scanned right now), I think I look a bit like my great-grandma, which is good. :-)  She had amazing silvery hair for all of the time I knew her, too, and I can only hope that I should age so well. :-)

          I really love family history.

And I REALLY LOVE MY FAMILY! <3

Happy Easter, If You Celebrate It!

High-waisted (!) jeans, Savers
Cami, JC Penney
Flats, Savers
Belt, Deseret Industries

This is what I wore on Easter!  When I bought these pants, there was one lady in the store who hated them, even when I tried them on. X) Just proves that sometimes, I don't care what people think -- I like lime green jeans anyway. :)

1920s Inspired by Mom

Dress from Mom
Shoes from Mom
Sash from... Mom

My mom let me have a dress that I believe is from the 80s or the early 90s or somesuch or other, but it reminded me of some 1920s style, so I styled it that way!  I couldn't figure out how to effectively do a faux bob, so I just put some curlers in my hair and cheated. X)

Flutterbye

Shirt from Kohl's (drawn on and tie-dyed by myself)
Skirt from Savers
Tights from Kohl's
Flats from Kohl's
(I don't really shop from Kohl's that much, I just... wear stuff from there a lot.)

Some nice, crappy photos! Woohoo!
